AMSIIntern is a national program that provides a platform for industry to engage and attract talent into their organisation through short-term tightly focused research projects. Operating across a range of disciplines and sectors, the program establish's industry driven R&D projects that are completed by PhD students full-time (4-5months), with the support of their academic mentor.

AMSI Intern works at the nexus between academia and industry, creating and strengthening links between businesses and universities, increasing awareness of the value-add that can be achieved through the engagement of high-level research capability.

Collaborating and networking across a large range of interests. Very happy to talk about getting, running and winding-up a CRC or CRC-P but also have specific interests in biotechnology, advanced manufacturing and conservation.

I am seeking opportunities as a non-executive Director in the science and/or health sector where I can utilise my tertiary qualifications in science and management. I am a President, Non Executive, National Secretary, Committee Chair, Treasurer and Member with strong communication and leadership skills together with over 25 years of committee and board level experience across the government and not-for-profit sectors with experience of: biotechnology research, professional standards, government and SMEs' procurement.  At board level some highlights include President of Professional Scientists Australia, National Secretary of Professionals Australia, and Policy Chair and Board Advisor to Science and Technology Australia. Here I have led the development of policies, national strategies and constitution changes. I have over ten years of experience in providing expert advice to commercial organisations bidding for government grants and tenders.

My research translates global climate science into useful, usable tools for operational and strategic decision makers in industry and government, with a particular interest in scenario stress testing of organisational strategy.  

I have experience working with industries such as: agriculture (Wine Australia), utilities (Hydro Tasmania, TasNetworks), emergency services (Tasmania Fire Service, Tasmania State Emergency Service), and tourism (the Victorian Alpine Resorts Coordinating Council). 

In each case, our capacity to transform the broad-scale global climate model outputs into fine-scale regional climate projections was critical to producing outputs of direct relevance and utility to our stakeholders.  The final outputs are carefully designed with input from stakeholders at the beginning of each project, with ongoing input through the project to mould research outputs and products to be fit for purpose. 

I am open to all new opportunities from any industry or sector, with specific interest in agriculture, utilities operations and management, as well as emergency services.
